TIMMINS, KAPUSKASING, HEARST, NEW LISKEARD, KIRKLAND LAKE, COCHRANE, IROQUOIS FALLS,  - The following message was released today in observance of National Foster Family Week, October 20-26, 2013.

As we celebrate, North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services ( NEOFACS ) wishes to thank all our foster  families, who have open their hearts and homes to our children and youth.  Foster Family Week provides us an opportunity to acknowledge those who have provided a safe, supportive and caring home to foster children by welcoming them to join their family.

NEOFACS works together for the well-being and safety of children youth and families with a vision for strong, healthy, and safe communities where children, youth and families thrive. We work hard to keep families together and when children must be cared for through foster care, we want them to remain in their own communities.  Currently there are 298 children being cared for in Foster Care and KIN Care (the child’s immediate or extended family). NEOFACS needs caring individuals and families to provide support and temporary care to children and youth while efforts are put forth to reunite children and youth with their parents.

The need for foster families never ends; NEOFACS is in immediate need for foster families.  More information on fostering is available at www.neofacs.org, or by calling 1 -866-229-5437.
