Longtime Timmins Coun. Mike Doody could soon have a building named after him.
At this term of council's final meeting, there is a motion to approve renaming the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre building to the Michael "J.J." Doody Centre.
Doody was a founding member of the museum in 1974.
He was first elected to municipal politics as a councillor in 1971 and served as mayor from 1977 to 1980. While he is currently a Ward 5 councillor, he wasn't re-elected for the next term, which starts Dec. 1.
Council meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13. The full agenda is available here.
