Mountjoy murder investigation proceeding at 'healthy pace'

Few details are available about a murder investigation in Timmins last week, though police say it's proceeding at a healthy pace. 

The incident happened in a Mountjoy Street South apartment building the afternoon of Nov. 17. A man sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at Timmins and District Hospital.

The name of the victim or details of a potential suspect have not been released.

Timmins Police corporate communications co-ordinator Marc Depatie said the incident is still under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division and is "proceeding at a healthy pace."

"The incident involves loss of life and foul play has been determined to be involved," he said.

"Anyone with information, from the critical to the minute, is asked to call in their information or make use of the Crime Stopper tip line."
