SOUTH PORCUPINE FOOD BANK

The South Porcupine Food Bank Inc. (SPFB) thanks all our supporters! We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed and donated in January 2021 a total estimated 527 lbs of food and $5,711 including:
    •    Based on shares SPFB has with Timmins Charitable Gaming Association at Jackpot City Timmins and OLG, we received $1,247
    •    Canada Helps partner giving 'End Hunger Fund' donated $529
    •    Received $500 through the Criminal Justice Diversion Program
    •    Royal Arch Masons of Canada, Timmins Chapter No. 213 donated $500 and The Sovereign Great Priory of Canada Knight Templars, Temiskaming Preceptory No. 60 donated $500 from shares received from Timmins Charitable Gaming Association at Jackpot City Timmins and OLG
    •    Food bins at Food Basics provided 220 lbs of food and Porcupine Mall provided 67 lbs of food
    •    UWCNEO provided $250 as part of an Area Grant
    •    Canadian On-Line Giving Foundation donated $274
    •    Northern Catholic District School Board Social Committee donated $150
    •    Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins donated 70 lbs of food
    •    Abundant Grace Ministries donated $25
    •    Food bank clients donated $31
    •    Other individuals combined donated 170 lbs. of food and $1,705

As part of Emergency Community Support Fund grant received through UWCNEO, SPFB shared grocery store gift cards (172 of $25) with our clients.

SPFB has been serving those in need in Timmins and Area since 1987, is operated by volunteers, with monthly operating costs in 2020 averaging $11,474. In January we served 278 people (183 adults and 95 children).

In January through collaborative efforts with Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins and UWCNEO, additional clients received home food deliveries.
