More than 3,000 people take in first day of music festival

Attendance on the first day of Stars and Thunder surpassed last year's numbers. 

For the kick off of the 2018 music festival in Timmins, 3,351 were at Hollinger Park to catch Celeste Levis, LGS, Roch Voisine and Marc Dupre take the stage. In 2017, attendance on St. Jean Baptiste Day was 2,129. 

General admission eight-day passes accounted for largest number of scans at the door today, followed by VIP passes, then single-day tickets.

For the 50/50 draw, the jackpot for the first draw was $8,335.

The festival continues tomorrow, when the headliner will be Blue Rodeo.
