Big Wreck, Finger Eleven, and Adam Gontier

Following the success of Friday night, Participark in Mountjoy was once again packed for the second and final evening of the second edition of Rock on The River, hosted by local organizers the Timmins Festivals and Events Committee.

Sudbury's Blackwood Sinners, the winners of TFEC's Epic Band Battle kicked off the evening, followed by a solo acoustic set by Adam Gontier, lead singer of Saint Asonia, and former frontman of Three Days Grace.

Burlington rockers Finger Eleven had the estimated 2,400 in attendance in a frenzy with an energetic set capped off by mega hits Good Times and Paralyzer as well as a cover of Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall.

Big Wreck capped off the evening with a lengthy set including That Song and Blown Wide Open, as well as some impressive jams and guitar solos from frontman Ian Thornley.

Aside from the live music, the festival benefited the community in additional ways. Kids 10 and under were granted access to the shows for free, but with a discretionary financial donation to the locals food banks.

Additionally, Vet's Taxi owner Rick Lafleur took the stage late Saturday night to donate $24,960 to the Timmins Food Bank, in part to support the Nobody Left Out in the Cold initiative, which gives food bank users cab rides home with their groceries in cold and wintery conditions.

TFEC organizers said they were thrilled with how well the event was received by the community, and how many dedicated volunteers sacrificed their weekends to contribute to the festival, and early indications are that Rock on The River will be back again next year.
