More bad holiday vibes in Kirkland Lake

KIRKLAND LAKE – On December 6, 2015, members of the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) on Government Road West in Kirkland Lake. 

At approximately 1:25 a.m. a vehicle was stopped and following a roadside test the owner was charged.

Charged is Nancy LAMOUREUX age 53 of Kirkland Lake with Driving over 80 Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on January 28, 2015.

Festive R.I.D.E will continue through the holiday season.

To date the Kirkland Lake OPP have conducted 38.25 hours of festive R.I.D.E, stopping over 537 vehicles and conducting four roadside tests; one driver has been charged with driving offences.

The OPP is reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving.

Anyone who suspects a driver is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
