Moosonee gets $128,919 for two key community projects

MOOSONEE - The Government of Canada is investing $128,919 in support of two initiatives in the Town of Moosonee. Of the total, $100,000 in Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program funding will be used to stabilize the town’s riverfront where the public docks are located.

The remaining $28,919 in Northern Ontario Development Program funding will assist the community to develop an economic development strategic plan to identify opportunities for business development and growth.

The Honourable Navdeep Bains, minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and minister responsible for FedNor, announced the funding Wednesday.

The initiatives are designed to preserve the integrity of key community infrastructure, and provide direction to the municipality on how best to focus its resources and budget.
