Ministry seeks public’s help in case of abandoned moose

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is seeking the public’s help in identifying the individual or individuals responsible for shooting and abandoning moose northwest of Timmins.

On Oct. 13, 2018, conservation officers responded to multiple tips from members of the public about discarded moose parts along Kamiskotia Road.

Officers attended the location and determined that two moose had been shot there at the same time. One moose, which officers believed to be a calf, was retrieved. The second was a cow which was abandoned approximately 65 metres off Kamiskotia Road.
