Michael JJ Doody Centre of Excellence being unveilled

A downtown building will soon be bearing a new name.

Saturday, May 25 the Michael JJ Doody Centre of Excellence is being unveilled at 11 a.m.

For the ceremony, Second Avenue will be closed between Spruce Street and Brunette Road from 10 a.m. to noon.

For the last council's final act, it voted to rename the building housing the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre and Timmins Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) the Michael JJ Doody Centre of Excellence.

Doody is a longtime councillor and former mayor. 

He was a founding member of the museum and TEDC.
