Union Gas partners with Mattagami Region Conservation Authority to promote environmental education through a $1,500 grant to support the Timmins Children’s Water Festival.

“We care about the environment and that value is reflected in our company culture, whether we are building a pipeline or erecting a new energy-efficient office building,” said Gerry Gravel, utility service construction manager, Union Gas.

“That’s why we support important educational programs in the communities we serve, such as the Timmins Children’s Water Festival, which is helping our children learn about the importance of the conservation and protection of our water.”

The Water Festival educates children about water conservation, protection and other environmental issues through more than 30 interactive activity centres. The festival also challenges students to think about their own actions and how they can bring these messages back to their homes and communities.

“This generous donation from Union Gas will help deliver this fun and educational event to a growing number of elementary students,” said Crystal Percival, communication specialist, Mattagami Region Conservation Authority.
