Man Arrested After Disturbance on Air Canada Jazz Timmins Bound Flight - UPDATED

One man is in custody after an incident on an Timmins bound Air Canada Jazz flight. The Timmins Police Service was notified of a passenger was causing a problem on Jazz Flight 7831. Officers met the plane upon its arrival at Victor M.

One man is in custody after an incident on an Timmins bound Air Canada Jazz flight.  The Timmins Police Service was notified of a passenger was causing a problem on Jazz Flight 7831. Officers met the plane upon its arrival at Victor M. Power Airport at 8:06 p.m. Passengers of the flight were required to remain on the plane until the officers escorted the suspect off of the plane.

Criminal charges are pending against a 54 year old Edmonton Alberta man. The man remains in police custody pending a bail hearing.

No passengers or crew were injured and the flight was able to make its return trip to Toronto.

On October 22, 2013 the crew of Jazz Flight 7831, which was en route from Toronto to Timmins, reported that a passenger was causing a disturbance on the aircraft and requested police attendance. Timmins Police officers met the plane upon arrival at the Victor M. Power Airport and removed the disruptive passenger. As a result of the police investigation, a 54 year old male from Edmonton. Alberta was arrested and charged.

Charged with Threatening to Cause Death is Earl Garneau, 54, of Edmonton, Alberta. Garneau was held for a bail hearing which was held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Garneau was released on a recognizance of bail after providing a cash surety. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins on November 6, 2013 to answer to the charge.
