LUNCH BREAK: Does this fox sound like a hound?

Mother fox communicating with her kits

Last summer, Village Media's Jake Cormier was filling up the water tank on his RV at Fairbank Provincial Park, in a horrendous cloud of blackflies.

He heard a high pitched bark and assumed it was someone walking their yappy dog. He was surprised to discover it was, in fact, a fox.

Foxes will bark to communicate with each other. In this case, according to park staff, this was a mother fox who had been seen around the park with her kits.

In the coming weeks, Village Media will be running a series of videos meant to enlighten and/or entertain you while we all go through this period of COVID-19 isolation.
