Lots to do at Kirkland Lake museum this summer

The Museum of Northern History at the Sir Harry Oakes Chateau has a number of events and activities coming up over the next few weeks.

The museum will be featuring the 21st Annual Quit Show, 'Material Magic.' It will be on display until June 1. Opening reception will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. Ad mission is by donation at the door.

Nominations for the Museum's Hall of Fame closes on Tuesday May 28. Nominees can be entered in the following categories:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Community Builders
  • Sports
  • Awards of Distinction

Additionally, the museum is celebrating the Town's Centennial. Coming up in June and July, there will be a Centennial exhibit highlighting the community’s history, people and events. We will also be hosting the 'What the Focus' photography group upstairs.
