If you're looking to get out with the family this weekend, there are a number of events to check out.

Here are some of the activities on this weekend:

Digital Creator launch

Saturday, Jan. 20, noon – 5 p.m.

Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre, 320 Second Ave.

Digital Creator is a free drop-in maker space geared toward teens. It’s set up at the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre and has all the tools you need to explore technology, or just sit back and relax. Teachers, parents, artists and teens are invited to stop during the launch to see what it’s all about.

Kids’ Saturdays at the Museum

Saturday, Jan. 20, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre

Join staff in hands-on kids activities that are linked to the exhibitions and explore new ideas.

Canadian Museum of Nature Minerals

Opens Jan. 20

Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre

This travelling exhibition opens at the museum this weekend. It features 90 specimens from the Canadian Museum of Nature's collection, along with pieces from the Timmins museums's geology collection.

Public Skating

Sportsplex - Saturday, Jan. 20, 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Whitney Arena - Sunday, Jan. 21, 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Mountjoy Arena - Sunday, Jan. 21, 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Get out your skates and take a couple laps at one of the local arenas. The cost for public skating is $4 per person.
