Local woman charged with defrauding her employer

It is alleged the employee committed ongoing fraud beginning in March of this year

The Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division has completed its investigation into an allegation of fraud committed by an employee of a west end retail store.

Working in conjunction with the retailer’s loss prevention officers, an ongoing fraud is alleged to have been perpetrated by an employee, beginning in March of this year and continuing until early this month.

The scope of the fraud involves an estimated loss to the retailer of approximately $5,700. The female suspect was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 9 and taken into police custody. Linda Studor, 28 of Timmins, has been arrested and charged with:
    •    Fraud over $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was released from custody on Aug. 9 on the strength of a Promise to Appear requiring that she attend at Provincial Court in Timmins on Sept. 4 to answer to the charge laid against her.
