The Timmins Police Service – Traffic Section is not pleased with the results of the first weekend of the Festive RIDE campaign.

Two drivers were charged with Impaired Driving related charges in separate incidents over the weekend.

An erratic driver was reported to the Timmins Police and is alleged to have travelled in the oncoming lane on Brunette Avenue during the early morning hours of Saturday, Dec. 3. The vehicle was located by the Timmins Police a short while later.

As a result of the investigative steps taken by the Timmins Police, a 19-year-old male from Timmins was arrested.

In a separate incident during the early morning hours of Sunday, Dec. 4, a driver of a 2013 Ford pickup truck was stopped in keeping with the Festive RIDE campaign.

Based on observations made by the Timmins Police officer, the driver was required to provide samples of breath into an approved screening device.

Based on the outcome of that test, the 25-year-old man from Timmins was arrested and brought to the Timmins Police headquarters for further breath testing.

As a result of these incidents, both men are charged with:
