LIVE: Ford announces school reopening plans

Secondary students will return under an adapted model

Update:
Premier Doug Ford announced today that elementary students will return to class five days a week, five hours a day once school begins Sept. 8.

Safety protocols will include mandatory masks for staff and students, limited physical contact, frequent cleaning of buses and facilities, and additional health and safety training.

Most secondary students will return under an 'adapted' model, said Stephen Lecce, Minister of Education. Groups of 15 students will alternate between in-person and online instruction. Those schools with lower risk profiles will return to full classes five days a week.
