OTTAWA—Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus is reminding small business owners and not-for-profit groups that the deadline to apply for disability accessibility funding is Monday, (January 20th). The Enabling Accessibility in the Workplace fund provides funding for projects that improve accessibility in the workplace.

Angus says this is an opportunity for a business or organization to make their facility accessible.

Now is the time to make your washroom wheelchair accessible, install ramps, or retrofit company vehicles for example.”

The program is designed for places where people with disabilities work or in which jobs could be created or maintained specifically for those with disabilities.

Timmins-James Bay has made use of this fund in the past and I encourage groups or businesses to get those applications in right away.”
