NEWS RELEASE

KOBZAR PARK REJUVENATION COMMITTEE

*************************
The Kobzar Park Rejuvenation Committee would like to thank Heritage Paving and NISG for their substantial in-kind donation towards landscaping Kobzar Park.

Special thanks go to Michael Perello, Krista Hedican, and Paul Villeneuve and their teams.

Thanks also goes to the City of Timmins parks manager Glenn Thurston and Downtown Timmins BIA executive director Noella Rinaldo and their staff for their dedication to this project, as well as the Timmins Horticultural Society, specifically Kees Stryland, Gail DeFelice and Sharon Ollila for their advice, and neighbour J.C. Berube for access to water.

Thanks are extended to TD Friends of the Environment Fund and the Ukrainian Cultural Group of Timmins for funds towards the plantings.

This past Saturday June 13, 2015, the Kobzar Park community garden was planted with perennial and annual flowers.

Everyone’s combined efforts have beautified one of the busiest intersections in Downtown Timmins at the corner of Mountjoy Street South and Second Avenue.

The transformation over the past year is remarkable.

Mark your calendars as the Kobzar Park re-dedication with unveiling of a bronze statue by Tyler Fauvelle is planned for Saturday August 22, at 11 a.m.

Fundraising is ongoing, donations can be dropped off at the Timmins Museum, or be arranged for pick up by emailing [email protected], donations over $100 are tax deductible.
