Kirkland Lakers encouraged to wear rubber suits, run around field

If you find yourself in Kirkland Lake, don't be surprised if you spot something like this going on.

If you find yourself in Kirkland Lake, don't be surprised if you spot something like this going on.

It's called bubble soccer, and Kimberly Klockars, activity coordinator for the Kirkland Lake parks and recreation department, advises TimminsToday that the town has just taken into its possession 12 bubble suits and will very soon be offering free events where people can come and try them out.

Beginning September 12 townspeople will also be able to rent them out from the Kirkland Lake Complex.

"They are perfect for just about any occasion – and it is just as entertaining to watch as it is to play," Klockars said.

The suits were paid for by a grant from the Ontario Sport and Recreation Communities Fund.
