Kirkland Lake welcomes new chief administrative officer

Council of the Town of Kirkland Lake is pleased to announce that it has appointed Richard McGee as its chief administrative officer.

Mr. McGee brings to the town five years of successful experience with the Town of Deep River as its CAO and clerk. He has previously held both elected and appointed municipal positions in southern Ontario. 

Speaking on behalf of council, Mayor Kiely said, “I speak on behalf of all of council when I say that we are pleased to be able to attract to Kirkland Lake someone with the experience and energy that Ric McGee will bring to this position. We think it will bode well for residents, businesses, and the staff that deliver the vital services provided by the Town.”

Following the appointment, Mr. McGee said he was eagerly looking forward to the position and assisting and advising council and staff in implementing the decisions that council will be making based on its work with the strategic plan, organizational review, and yet to be completed service delivery review.

His appointment is effective no later than March 2, 2020.
