It's Alzheimer awareness month in Timmins

The organization has a new location

January has officially been proclaimed Alzheimer Awareness Month in Timmins.

Timmins Mayor George Pirie was joined by Alzheimer Society Timmins-Porcupine executive director Tracy Koskamp-Bergeron as well as other employees to make the proclamation and raise a flag at city hall.

According to the Alzheimer Society, more than 500,000 Canadians are living with dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. In less than 15 years, that number is expected to almost double.
