(IRQOUOIS FALLS) – An officer with the Iroquois Falls OPP has charged a local resident with a fraud offence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada stemming from an event at a local fast food restaurant on July 10th in the Iroquois Falls area.
The OPP were called in to investigate the matter where a person is alleged to have ordered food and attempted to pay by using a pre-paid customer card with insufficient funds on it to cover the cost of the meal.
The suspect then took possession of the food and fled the restaurant on foot.
Based on a review of video surveillance tapes, the suspect was identified and located and arrested.
Michal ALLEN, 33, of Iroquois Falls has been charged with Obtain Food or Lodging by Fraudulent Means contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
He must attend Provincial Court in Timmins on July 15th to answer to the charge laid against him.
