Abitibi Chevre cheese is here in Iroquois Falls

O’Clay is proud to announce the launch of Abitibi Chevre cheese with our partner Seguin’s Valu-Mart on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at 10 a.m.

Abitibi Chevre is a firm artisan cheese, handcrafted in northern Ontario, using local Mennonite goat milk. The high-quality goats milk cheese is air-aged and never shrink wrapped to ensure a superb flavour profile.

The artisan cheese is made in northeastern Ontario. Kapuskasing Fromagerie’s cheesemakers are French trained (in the French Alps) and are passionate about using traditional techniques in transforming milk to cheese, using manual power.

Mayor Shea, Town of Iroquois Falls, says, “Our economic development strategic plan identifies agriculture as a strong sector to support and foster growth. We welcome economic diversity specifically in the agriculture sector to strengthen our local economy.”

Justus Veldman CEO O’Clay Inc. articulates, “Abitibi Chevre is a very fine cheese! It is our pleasure to work with our partners in northeastern Ontario to bring Abitibi Chevre officially to the market. Our goal is to foster agricultural growth and prosperity with local grown and produced products in Iroquois Falls and northern Ontario.”
