COCHRANE – On May 29, 2016, at approximately 4 p.m., James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Cochrane District Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to attend a collision on Highway 11 in Lamarche Township approximately six kilometres south of the Town of Cochrane.
A motorcyclist travelling south on Highway 11 collided with another motorcyclist travelling in the same direction on Highway 11.
The injured motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, via ambulance where he died of his injuries; the other driver was uninjured.
Gerard Rondeau, 61 years of age, of Iroquois Falls, Ontario, died as a result of the collision.
OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) are assisting with the investigation.
