Timmins radio listeners started hearing a new name on their favourite radio station this morning.  At 8:00 a.m., the station formerly known as EZ Rock rebranded itself to Today's Best Music ... KiSS 99.3.

KiSS 99.3 announced early in the summer that it would be looking for a new name, something fun and more reflective of the upbeat, contemporary music featured on the station from stars like P!nk, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Kelly Clarkson.  The evolution of KiSS 99.3 closely mirrors what has been happening in popular music and fans have certainly noticed.

"The audience told us repeatedly after we changed the music that the old name no longer fit,” said Art Pultz, General Manager, KiSS 99.3.  “It was obvious to us that this change was necessary and long overdue."

The station polled its audience through its website, the Friends With Benefits loyalty club, and various social media outlets. The results clearly indicated one choice above all others.

“We'd like to thank our listeners for giving us a very clear direction as to what the new name for the station that plays today's best music should be,” said Pultz.  “It's the final step in a rebranding of the radio station that has made KiSS 99.3 a huge ratings winner in Timmins."

The station won't be changing anything other than its name. The change was announced by Cody and Huda just after 8:00 a.m. today.  All the hosts and features that listeners have become accustomed to hearing on KiSS 99.3 will remain the same.

To coincide with the name change on air, the station website and social media platforms were also renamed to reflect the new brand.

KiSS 99.3 is the latest among Rogers Radio stations to rebrand. A change to the KiSS brand also occurred this morning on sister stations 100.5 EZ Rock (North Bay, ON), 100.5 EZ Rock (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) and 105.3 EZ Rock (Sudbury, ON) as part of a broader investment in this format.
