TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE

**************************
During the month of July, Timmins Police saw a decrease in impaired driving charges – however police remind residents that the ideal number of impaired driving charges will always remain at zero.

During the evening hours of July 1, 2014, a fellow motorist observed a vehicle driving erratically and called police.

Police located the vehicle and observed signs of impairment in the driver.

Following the officer’s investigation, Crystal JOHNSON, 47, of Timmins was charged with impaired driving and failing/refusing to provide a breath sample.

On July 11, 2014 at approximately 1:30 a.m., a Timmins Police officer observed a vehicle leaving the parking lot of a local establishment.

After affecting a traffic stop, the officer noted signed of impairment in the driver.

The driver was transported to the Timmins Police Service office where he provided a breath sample.

Jason LANGLOIS, 34, of Timmins was subsequently charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

On July 31, at approximately 2 a.m., a Timmins Police officer noted signs of impairment in the driver of a vehicle.

The officer requested the driver provide a breath sample and the driver of the vehicle refused.

Prosper DUBEAU, 68, of Timmins was charged with failing/refusing to provide a breath sample.

The Timmins Police Service reminds drivers that the charge of fail/refuse to provide breath sample is a criminal charge, and carries the same penalties as an impaired driving charge if convicted.

Anyone suspecting an impaired driver at any time is, as always, encouraged to call 9-1-1.
