Two arrested, a third person sought after Kirby Street home invasion

The Timmins Police Service was called to the scene of an alleged home invasion early this morning at a Kirby Street apartment in Timmins.

Based on the investigation, it is alleged that three suspects attended the apartment early this morning and attempted to complete a robbery by assaulting the 43-year-old male victim.

The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival. All three have been identified by the Timmins Police Service. Two of the suspects were located and arrested a short while later.

As a result of the violent altercation, Katlynne Osawamick, 19, and Barry Godin, 43, both of Timmins have been charged with:

  • One count of robbery with intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • One count of being unlawfully in a dwelling house contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of uttering threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Godin is further charged with one count of Breach of Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

Both Godin and Osawamick remain in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.

Timmins Police are actively seeking the third suspect involved in this incident.
