The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Timmins has decided to take part in Breast Cancer Awareness month by dressing up one of their Jacuzzi rooms in pink.

"We’ve received support from local businesses in order to help make this endeavor a reality. Believe it or not, it is impossible to find pink pillow cases in the city of Timmins. We’ve managed to bring some in from out of town and the wonderful people at Lori’s Sewing Place made us two custom made pillowcases as well with pink ribbon fabric. They also fabricated a beautiful custom throw with the pink ribbon in the centre." says Brigitte Vanderloo, Sales Manager at the Holiday Inn Express.

"We are not charging extra for use of this room. However the person who requests/rents this room will have the knowledge that a portion of their room rental rate will be donated to the Ontario Breast Screening Program at the Timmins and District Hospital. Why are we doing this? We thought that every business in the community can come up with a creative way to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While we are in the hospitality business, this is our way."

So far, they have had two people stay in the room and received great reviews.

Vanderloo says that they also received a huge donation of shortbread cookies, dipped in chocolate from Vicky D’Amours Specialty cakes as a thank you for the support, placed in the room prior to check-in.D'amours specialty cakes

The Timmins Chamber of Commerce is assisting in spreading the word and offering their support while Amy-Medea’s Photography donated the photo to be used in all advertising for the room. The amount of community support has been great. Collected funds will be donated after October 31st.
