Professional Firefighters Association Inferno took on the Timmins District Hospital Code Blue in support of Owen Fodchuk and Jade Collins

The Timmins Professional Firefighters Association Inferno took on the Timmins District Hospital Code Blue on Saturday night at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex.

The game and auction are being hosted in support of Owen Fodchuk and Jade Collins, two local children who are battling serious illnesses, and their families.

The game started at 6:30 p.m. with the singing of the Canadian National Anthem; and honorary puck drop by Owen, Jade, their families and the captains from both teams.

Scott Atkinson, President of the Timmins Professional Firefighters Association, was in attendance, and thanked spectators for their generosity in attending the game.

Atkinson also stated that while the Association has not hosted a game for several years, this is the tenth game in honor of a family with a sick child.

This is the first game where two families are being assisted by the donations and ticket sales.

“All proceeds from this game and the auction are going to the families” said Atkinson.
