Highway 11 closed between Hearst and Kapuskasing (Update: Reopened)

Kapuskasing Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police advise that Highway 11 between Hearst and Kapuskasing is now fully open to all traffic in both directions.

Kapuskasing Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police advise that Highway 11 is closed between Hearst and Kapuskasing.

Police say the highway is closed due to ice and poor weather condition.

No detour is available and the estimated duration of the highway is unknown.

"Please do not call O.P.P. Provincial Communication Centres for road advisory updates or road condition information, says a police spokesperson. "Visit the Ontario Ministry of Transportation website at ontario.ca/511, twitter @511Ontario  or call 511 traveller's information such as winter road conditions, construction reports, road closures, traffic reports, traffic cameras and interactive mapping."
