High-risk COVID exposure on Dec. 27 train to Moosonee

A potential high-risk COVID-19 exposure advisory has been issued for a Polar Bear Express train.

The affected trip is the 9 a.m. train on Monday, Dec. 27 from Cochrane to Moosonee, according to the Porcupine Health Unit.

Those seated in Car 4 are advised to self-isolate immediately for: 

  • 5 days if you are fully vaccinated or under 12 years of age 
  • 10 days if you are partially vaccinated or unvaccinated or immune compromised. 
  • Self-monitor for symptoms for 10 days. 
  • If you develop symptoms continue to self-isolate and get tested. 

Other individuals on this train are advised to:  

  • Self-monitor for signs and symptoms* of COVID-19 for 10 days from potential  exposure. 
  • Self-isolate immediately if symptoms* develop and get tested.

Symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough, loss of taste or smell, difficulty breathing, tiredness, muscle aches and pain, nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea, abdominal pain, sore throat, runny nose, nasal congestion, decreased or lack of appetite, headache and pink eye.
