The spring melt has led to a section of Theriault Boulevard being closed to vehicular traffic.

According to the City of Timmins, large potholes forming under the water are not visible to drivers. The road is closed from Vimy to the Timmins High and Vocational School entrance.

“Public Works is asking the only local traffic utilize Theriault Boulevard from Jubilee, and that Access to École secondaire Theriault and College Boreal be made via the Gilles street entrance,” reads a notice on the city’s website.

The road will be re-opened once the melt is finished and potholes can be patched.
