Science North is carrying on, despite the pandemic. Sudbury's hometown science centre said it will continue to deliver school programs "virtually" as the various pandemic public measures means field trips that require group transportation are on pause for now.

Science North education director Ryan Land explained that the pandemic inconvenience actually has a hidden benefit.

"The small silver lining in the current reality is that we can now book virtual programming five days a week, rather than restricting school visits to a limited number of groups, three days a week at Science North," land said in an email.

"We are grateful that all four of the school boards in Greater Sudbury have maintained their school memberships for all students throughout the pandemic, and we’ve worked closely with them to continue to deliver programming throughout," he added.

Land said that in the near term, even more students will get access to STEM-based (Science,Technology, Engineering, Math) experiential learning. If teachers or schools have questions or booking requests, they can contact [email protected] or visit www.sciencenorth.ca.
