The popular market is back in a new location, across the road from its previous site. Shop from local producers and artisans at this weekly market.

Sugar and Glue Geodes 
Saturday, Sept. 24, 1-2 p.m.
Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre 

This Kids’ Saturdays at the Museum event is appropriate for children ages six and up. Use simple ingredients like sugar and glue to create colourful (but not edible) crystals. The cost is $5 plus HST. Registration is required by calling 705-369-2617.

Crafternoon 
Saturday, Sept. 24, 2 p.m. 
C.M. Shields Centennial Library 

Whether you knit, crochet, embroider or make jewelry, stop by to get creative with others and share ideas. Bring your current project to the South Porcupine library to enjoy the afternoon.

Breakfast 
Sunday, Sept. 25, 9 a.m. - noon 
Connaught Community Centre, 6825 Frederickhouse Lake Rd.

Enjoy eggs, homemade beans, pancakes, bacon, ham, sausage, fruit and more at this fundraiser for the centre's sports court. The cost is $15 for adults, $8 for kids ages six to 10 years and children five and under are free.

Food Drive
Sunday, Sept. 25, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The Timmins Fire Department is working to fill the shelves at the Timmins and South Porcupine food banks. Starting at 11 a.m. fire trucks will be in neighbourhoods across the city collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations. Donations can also be dropped off at any of the fire stations from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anyone wanting to volunteer to help collect donations should stop by their local fire station for 11 a.m. 

Kidney Walk 
Sunday, Sept. 25, 1 p.m. 
Gillies Lake

The group is meeting at the parking lot off Highway 655. Donations can be made there throughout the walk. Everyone is encouraged to take part. 

Timmins Coin Club Open House 
Sunday, Sept. 25, 1:30-4:30 p.m.
Timmins Public Library, Tembec Room 

The Timmins Coin Club is hosting its open house with Timmins Memorabilia Displays. Do you have coins or paper money that you’ve inherited or acquired long ago and are curious about the value? Drop in to let members have a look and see if the bills are worth more than face value. The club will not be certifying or authenticating any coins or paper money.

Learn about local history at this attraction, which offers free admission. Every Saturday there are free hot dogs served up for visitors from noon to 3 p.m.

Gemstone or not? A scientific investigation

This interactive exhibit looks at the fascinating world of gemstones. Discover hints and tricks to discover the difference between real and fake gemstones.

Runs Saturdays until Dec. 3, 6-8 p.m.
Bible Fellowship Assembly and Zoom

People grieving the loss of a loved one can start at any time during the 13 weeks. Contact Ted Bendell at 705-360-0697 or email [email protected]. This is a free service provided by the church. If it is of value to you, donations are welcomed towards Bible Fellowship Assembly.
