A heavy police presence remains on a west-end Timmins street.
Timmins Police emergency response team has a command unit set up on Shirley Street and a residence in the 400 block is contained.
OPP is also on the scene, as well as an ambulance.
Earlier today, Timmins Police communications coordinator Marc Depatie said there is a person of interest linked to a number of investigations believed to be in the residence.
Depatie couldn't confirm if this incident is connected to yesterday's attempted murder that is being investigated.
For the past couple of hours, residents in the area of the residence have been evacuated.
Shirley Street between Lafleur and Park remains closed to both vehicles and pedestrians. Both nearby schools, Ecole publique Lionel-Gauthier and Ecole publique Renaissance are open.
