Heated altercation ends with one man in custody

The Timmins Police Service was called to the scene of a disturbance involving two men in a heated altercation during the early morning hours of Saturday, Oct. 1 at a Fifth Avenue residence in Timmins.

Upon arrival, Timmins Police officers located one of the parties involved in the disturbance who is known to the police.

The man was interviewed by the Timmins Police officers at the scene.

The man was arrested on the strength of an existing warrant and found to be in possession of a suspected narcotic substance pursuant to a search of his person incidental to his arrest.

Christopher Killeen, 35, of Timmins, has been charged with:

  • One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
  • Two counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The charged person remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
