The Board of the Health for the Porcupine Health Unit (PHU) is working on their next strategic plan. An important part of the planning process is consulting with people who live and work in our communities.

'Your Voice Matters' is a short 10-question survey, asking our community members about public health issues that matter the most to them.

“We want the PHU strategic plan to resonate with our communities. The best way to determine that is to ask community members what is important to them,” said Lianne Catton, medical officer of health (A) of the Porcupine Health Unit.

Surveys are available both online and in print. They can be accessed online or through the health unit’s website or Facebook page. Paper copies are available in English, French and Cree at all PHU offices. The deadline to complete the survey is Thursday, March 29, 2018.

In addition to the surveys for community members, the PHU has been consulting with organizations and partners to further inform the next strategic plan.

The Porcupine Health Unit is located in northeastern Ontario, serving the entire Cochrane District and Hornepayne, in Algoma District. The main office is located in Timmins, Ont., with branch offices in Cochrane, Hearst, Hornepayne, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Matheson, Moosonee and Smooth Rock Falls.
