If you don’t already have Friday night plans, you can catch a free holiday movie at O’Gorman High School.

The Porcupine Health Unit has partnered with Timmins Youth Organization for a free, family fun, smoke-free movie night. It starts at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7.

It’s open to the public and the movie is The Polar Express. There will be free popcorn, hot chocolate, and gifts, as well as activities such as decorating gingerbread cookies, making ornaments, and writing a letter to Santa Claus.

The Timmins Youth Organization is a youth-led committee that is supported by adults. Smoke-free movies is one of the projects it has taken on to expose the way the tobacco industry targets and recruits youth.
