Mushkegowuk Council is looking for moose hunting stories that will be then published in a book.

Entries must be written by youth, aged six to 29. The call for entries closes Nov. 15.

Stories can be about the first time killing a moose, any memorable moments or teachings learned. Eligible participants will also receive a $25 gift card.

Since the start of the pandemic, Mushkegowuk Council's youth department has been working on a book showcasing the history and traditions of the Cree people. The department has collected stories of annual goose hunt and is now planning to include moose hunting stories in the book as well.

Submissions with a photo can be sent to [email protected].
