A meeting next week is a chance for people to comment on Gowest's mine production closure plan for its Bradshaw Gold Project.

The Bradshaw Mine is located north of Timmins, and according to the meeting notice, Gowest Gold is aiming to start production in June 2020.

The public meeting is being held Jan. 23 from 6 - 8 p.m. in the auditorium at the McIntyre Community Centre. There is a formal presentation at 7 p.m.

It's a chance for people to get details on Gowest's plans for the advanced exploration and mine production phases, environmental permitting and current approvals, and report about ongoing health, safety, environmental and social performance. The community will also be able to give feedback on the Bradshaw mine and production closure plan.

"We are very pleased to be moving ahead again with Bradshaw. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our stakeholders for their continued cooperation and support. We will provide updates on our progress in the coming weeks and months as we return to developing what we expect will be the next new gold mine in the Timmins camp," said Greg Romain, Gowest Gold president and CEO, in a news release.

According to Gowest, they have environmental approvals for production, with the exception of the closure plan.

In a news release, Gowest announced it's preparing for a diamond drill program that will give them "critical information in preparation for extending the main ramp, locating the planned vent raise, as well as providing details on the first long stope." Engineering designs for vent and escape raise construction work are also being done.

At the site, the company said the infrastructure needed for production is advancement of underground mine workings, building a new vent raise and escapeway, and ancillary buildings and storage areas.

"The Bradshaw site was designed and developed for eventual mine production. No ore processing will occur at the mine site," reads the release.

For processing ore, Gowest has a binding term sheet with Northern Sun Mining Corporation, which has the Redstone Mill southeast of Timmins.

That agreement is for processing up to 30,000 tonnes of ore from the advanced exploration bulk sample program at Bradshaw gold.

"Northern Sun is now working on obtaining the necessary permits to process this ore, and it is currently expected that this processing will begin by mid-2020," reads the news release.
