Golden Manor suspends non-essential services, visits

The Golden Manor has suspended non-essential services and visits, in accordance with the recommendation of Ontario’s Medical Officer, Dr. David Williams.

As of last Friday, and until further notice, the Golden Manor is closed to visitors. Exceptions will be made for those visiting residents who are very ill or requiring end-of-life care.

All staff presenting to work, and visitors attending the Home are being asked a series of screening questions upon arrival, before entry is permitted.

In addition, the Golden Manor has cancelled the following until further notice:

  • All non-essential residents’ passes out of the home
  • Non-essential resident appointments outside of the home
  • Adult Day Program
  • Hairdressing services
  • Tuck Shop
  • Volunteer activity programs

 Volunteers and students will not be permitted entry. New and different situations will be addressed on an individual basis. Should you have reason to attend the Golden Manor, there is a buzzer system set up at the main doors, and a staff member will respond.

The health and well-being of our resident, families and staff is our top priority. We realize this is a challenging time for everyone, and we are doing all we ccan to maintain comfort and keep lines of communication open with families and loved ones.
