NEWS RELEASE
TIMMINS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

As Oct. 19 marks the beginning of National Small Business Week, The Chamber and their partners are pleased to launch a full calendar of events to provide businesses with the tools they need to succeed. To celebrate small business, The Chamber has a full slate of workshops, modules, and e-learning opportunities scheduled to help owners and operators skill-up and brush up with helpful tools and techniques to grow their businesses.

“Every year, The Chamber is proud to partner with community builders and other business support organizations to deliver meaningful sessions that seek to help our members grow and thrive,” said Melanie Verreault, president of The Chamber. “It is through these partnerships that these events are free to access and give owners and operators the chance to learn, network, and build momentum within their organizations.”

The schedule boasts eleven sessions throughout the week; businesses will be able to register for social media and marketing workshops, a Funders’ Forum, and virtual networking opportunities to ensure they continue to make meaningful connections.

Building on the #finditINtimmins campaign, The Chamber is encouraging the community to continue finding what they need in Timmins. The annual, week-long campaign seeks to remind consumers of the importance of supporting their local businesses, who, in return, provide vital support to the many charities, non-profits, and sports teams in our community.

“Now, more than ever, our small- and medium-sized businesses need our support,” said Melanie Verreault, president of The Chamber. “They have been among the hardest hit amid the pandemic; however, they continue to be key stakeholders in moving Timmins forward and visible in the logos on the back of sports jerseys and banners at charity events. Our ability to show local some love will ensure that they drive projects and initiatives for years to come.”
