Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Timmins - Cochrane - Iroquois Falls
  • Kirkland Lake - Englehart
  • New Liskeard - Temagami
  • Chapleau - Missinaibi Lake
  • Gogama - Foleyet

A long-lasting period of freezing rain resulting in ice accumulation is expected or occurring.

Temperatures continue to hover near or just below the zero degree mark. Hence areas of freezing rain continue to affect much of Northeastern Ontario this morning. Freezing rain will slowly change over to rain later this morning to near noon as temperatures edge above the zero degree mark.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Utility outages may occur.
