Freezing Drizzle Advisory in effect for:

Timmins - Cochrane - Iroquois Falls

Freezing drizzle is being reported across much of northeastern Ontario this evening.

The freezing rain warning that was in effect is being changed to a freezing drizzle advisory as precipitation is expected to be quite light and patchy.

However, untreated surfaces are still expected to become icy and slippery.

Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution.

The freezing drizzle may persist well into the overnight hours, especially for more northern locales such as Timmins.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

Weather Advisories for Freezing Drizzle are issued when drizzle falling in sub zero temperatures is expected to freeze on contact, and over time create icy surfaces.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required.

Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports to #ONStorm.
