Free transit running during Stars and Thunder

If you want to hop on a bus during Stars and Thunder, the price is right.

June 24 to June 30 Timmins Transit is free for all users from noon to close.

Transit is also free Canada Day, with routes running on Sunday schedules. You can check out the transit routes here.

Timmins Handy Transit will also be free, to book a trip call 705-360-2600 ext. 3504.

For people heading out to the concert from their hotel, or who want to park and ride, First Student is also running shuttles.

For the first seven days there are three zones for service.

Shuttle 1 (west) has stops at Eastview RV, Microtel and Cedar Meadows. Shuttle 2 (east) is for Super 8, Vipond Road parking, and the Spruce Street South snow dump parking. Shuttle 3 stops at the Ramada, Travel Lodge, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, and Senator.

Shuttles leave every 30 minutes from the shuttle zone in the parking lot behind the Timmins Transit and ONR terminal.

They will run from noon to midnight June 24 and June 30, and 4 p.m. to midnight June 25 – 29.

The shuttle service will expand for Canada Day and run from 11 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.

The zones for Canada Day are:

• Shuttle 1 (Mountjoy): Eastview RV, Microtel

• Shuttle 2 (Porcupine/South Porcupine): Ontario Government Complex, Porcupine Mall

• Shuttle 3 (city centre): Ramada, Travel Lodge, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Senator

• Shuttle 4 (Timmins west): Giant Tiger, Walmart, Timmins Square, Mountjoy Arena

• Shuttle 5 (Schumacher): Vipond Road, Chamber of Commerce, Super 8

• Shuttle 6 (Timmins south): Confederation Arena, DelVillano Park on Pine Street South, Snow dump parking on Spruce Street South

• Shuttle 7 (Melrose): Sportsplex, baseball field on Airport Road, Cedar Meadows
