NEWS RELEASE

CITY OF TIMMINS

*************************
Oct. 27 to Nov. 10 has been declared as Poppy Weeks in the City of Timmins, and as such, City Hall is proudly flying the associated flag. Poppy Weeks will be followed by a two-minute wave of silence on Nov. 11, at 11 a.m.

The poppy is a traditional symbol of sacrifice, and all moneys raised through the Poppy Campaign remain right here in our community - providing funds to the Timmins and District Hospital, the Golden Manor, Cadet Corps and other charities that benefit our brave veterans and the general public.

Mayor Black was joined for an official proclamation and flag raise by members of Legion Branch 88.
