Find out when you can get into Kettle Lakes for free

Ontario Parks is celebrating Healthy Parks Healthy People this week.

Friday, July 20 there is free day-use at all Ontario Parks. That means you can head out to Kettle Lakes Provincial Park in the east end of Timmins to enjoy all the lakes, trails and programming.

There are some special events planned at Kettle Lakes.

At 10 a.m. is forest bathing, which is a Japanese practice where you go for a slow walk in the woods without technological devises. If you want to take part in this, you should sign up at the front gate before Friday.

Attend the discovery drop-in to learn about how to explore the Oh-Say-Yah-Wah-Kaw trail on your own. A group will be meeting at the trail head at 2:30 p.m.

You can also meet the naturalist at 2 p.m. at Slab Lake, and there is an art in the park session at 7 p.m. at Island Lake. All ages are welcome to participate, they have all the tools to create your masterpiece.

While the day-use entry is free, there are still fees for equipment rentals if you want to use them. The park facilities are open until 10 p.m. for day users.
