Timmins Mayor Steve Black is chairing his last council meeting tonight.

The 2014-2018 term of council is meeting at 6 p.m. in council chambers.

While all of the current council sought another term at the table, not all were re-elected Oct. 22. It will be the last meeting for Black, as well as councillors Veronica Farrell, Walter Wawrzaszek, Pat Bamford, Michael J.J. Doody, and Rick Dubeau.

The agenda is fairly small, however there is a motion to rename the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre building the Michael J.J. Doody Centre. The longtime municipal politician was a founding member of the museum in 1974.

The fire department is also presenting its annual report.
